ZUMA family, I like writing about our awards and good things..
Sadly, today is not one of those days.
I wrote many of you earlier about sad death of one of the great war photographers of our generation.
It is a even sadder day than we thought earlier.
More news on Tim’s death. ZUMA photographer GUY MARTIN was also wounded today during the mortar attack in Libya, that killed TIM HETHERINGTON and CHRIS HONDROS was severely injured as well. Luckily the young Martin appears to be okay, Chris not as lucky, but hanging in there…
I talked to family of Chris’s and a good friend of Tim’s earlier and let them know we were all thinking of them and offered support in any way we can. Got to know Tim in Amsterdam a few years ago at World Press, he was a quiet introspective man, with a big heart. A gentle giant and greatly talented visualist. We are all better to have had him in our midst.
Chris is one of the nicest people in our industry and great all around person, life of the party type.
not a bad man to have a few pints with too:) god speed, chris. Hope the injuries are not as bad as they are saying.

If you can join us Saturday at Olivier’s opening and we will toast Tim and Chris!
I am going to try to put together a tribute to Tim and Chris. Remember them as they would want us too…
