April 28, 2012 – San Bruno, California, U.S. – PAUL KITAGAKI is interviewed by local media about his photo story on Japanese-Americans who were sent to internment camps in the U.S. after the start of World War II. The photo series was being displayed at the San Bruno BART station, and opened on the 70th anniversary of the site being used as a staging area for for the internment. When the Sacramento Bee photojournalist learned that his family had been photographed during the internment process, he began a project to collect archive photos from that time, find the people in the photos, photograph them all these years later, and tell their story…
