MARIA IZAURRALDE grew up between Argentina, Canada and the US. She began taking pictures in 2008 after receiving her first DSLR as a gift from someone that noticed how lost she once got while taking pictures of a lady with a mule in Ecuador. She began photographing everything around her; the streets of DC, music, and the debaucheries of nightlife. By 2009 The Washington Post named her one of DC’s top Partyrazzi’s. That year she began work on a photo book for one of DC’s nightlife institutions, the internationally renowned Eighteenth Street Lounge. ‘ESL: The Photo Book’ was released in November 2011. Maria currently resides in South Florida.
