Ignoring the bombs and the warnings in the face of a raging conflict, more than 35,000 ultra-Orthodox Jews from across the world journeyed to Uman, Ukraine, to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year. The event has historically been coveted as a ‘men’s only event’, with the division of gender deeply rooted in the traditional disciplines of Hasidic Judaism. The struggle for equality in the community as a whole is an ongoing battle. Welcome to ‘The Show Must Go On”
