Flooding occurred on March 7, 2024, after thunderstorms brought torrential downpours to rural Kern County. Some roads were closed to public travel and drainage outlets were overwhelmed with puddling as the downpour surged. Kern County officials warned travelers to be mindful of their speeds on farmland highways.
