CEO David Ha spoke about the company’s vision for advancing artificial intelligence in Japan. Founded in 2023, Sakana AI has quickly emerged as a key player in Japan’s AI ecosystem. With backing from global tech giant Nvidia and domestic leaders NEC and Fujitsu, the Tokyo-based startup aims to close the innovation gap by developing next-generation AI models (including AI Scientist,) an ambitious system designed to automate scientific discovery and accelerate research breakthroughs.
