On Friday, January 16, 2026, firefighters from the Berlin Fire Department searched for a person in the icy waters of Lietzensee in Berlin’s Charlottenburg district. Emergency crews illuminated the frozen lake and deployed a helicopter during the operation. The search was later ended without anyone being located.
