A former Haitian special forces policeman turned gang kingpin called Jimmy ”Barbecue” Cherizier announced the criminal groups’ mission was to overthrow the country’s unpopular leader, Ariel Henry, and liberate its 11.7 million citizens from anti-democratic rule.
