Snow and black ice cover streets in Berlin’s Charlottenburg district late Friday night, January 2, 2026, extending into early Saturday, January 3, as freezing temperatures followed steady snowfall. Slippery road conditions caused vehicles to lose traction and forced drivers to slow down across major routes. Several accidents were reported, including on Berlin’s A100 city highway, where traffic was partially disrupted. Firefighters and emergency medical services were deployed throughout the night to respond to weather-related crashes. Authorities warned that the ongoing icy conditions continued to pose a risk to motorists.
