November 21, 2024, Hong Kong, China: In Hong Kong, China PLA Navy Amphibious Assault Ship, pennant number 31 HAINAN anchored at the Western pier on Hong Kong Island on Thursday. China PLA Navy Amphibious Assault Ship HAINAN and Destroyer CHANGSHA visit Hong Kong for 5 days. HAINAN is the lead ship of Type 075 Landing Helicopter Dock of the PLA Navy commissioned on 23 April 2021, one of the newest and the largest Amphibious Warship of the PLA Navy which is capable of carrying nearly 30 helicopters of various types. The sudden visit of HAINAN and CHANGSHA indicate China PLA Navy’s demonstration of power in the region amidst territorial dispute over South China Sea with Philippines. November 21, 2024, Hong Kong, China: China PLA Navy Amphibious Assault Ship, pennant number 31, HAINAN is seen anchored at the Western Pier on the Hong Kong Island. HAINAN, is the lead ship of the Type 075 Landing Helicopter Dock of the PLA Navy commissioned on 23-April, 2021. It is the largest and latest amphibious assault ship of the PLA Navy so far which is capable of carrying nearly 30 helicopters on board, also equipped with dock, able to be used as ‘mothership’ for amphibious vehicles landing crafts and air-cushioned landing craft. December 22, 2024, Haleiwa, Oahu, USA: History was made today as Salt + Air Studios launched their groundbreaking ocean sports live-streaming channel, Rogue.TV, with the most-watched surf event ever recorded. L. McNamara claimed victory at the legendary Rip Curl Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational, solidifying an unforgettable debut for this exciting new venture. McNamara’s makes it the third time in a row that an Oahu North Shore surfer has won, named after the original North Shore lifeguard Eddie Aikau. Another North Shore lifeguard, L. Shepardson won in 2023. North Shore legend J. J. Florence won in 2016. 45 surfers, 35 men and 10 women were invited to compete. Waves got as big as 50 feet producing epic rides and wipeouts. More than 20,000 spectators showed up at Waimea Bay and over a record million live for the world’s most prestigious big-wave competition on the waves that exceeded the height of three-story buildings.
