January 8, 2025, Los Angeles, California, USA: The wildfire in Pacific Palisades, which began on Tuesday, January 7th, quickly spread due to the Santa Ana winds in the Los Angeles area. Hundreds of homes and vehicles have been destroyed, and thousands of people have been evacuated. Firefighters have been battling the blaze, but it remains uncontrollable due to the strong winds. The Palisades Fire has burned over 17,000 acres and is at zero percent containment, according to authorities.

They look closely at the disfigured corpses with smashed faces some with no eyes, in the hope of recognizing a lost loved one who disappeared into Syria’s notorious prison system during the 13 year civil war. On December 8, a rebel offensive led by the Islamist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham ousted President Bashar al-Assad. January 7, 2025, Altadena, California: Evacuation orders are in place for areas in Altadena, Pasadena, and Sierra Madre after a fast-moving brush fire broke out at 6:12 p.m. Tuesday. The fire is now estimated about 1,000 acres and quickly burned near Eaton Canyon in Altadena.
