Since early 2024, there have been 41 attacks using suicide drones, all originate from areas controlled by Syrian regime forces. Many of the attacks targeted civilians, with three killed and 18 injured, including a woman and four children. The impact of the violence is not limited to direct loss of life but also threatens the security livelihoods of thousands of families. The resilience of communities in northwest Syria has already been devastated by thirteen years of war and the 2023 earthquakes. New threats, like suicide drones, compound the psychological trauma and the suffering of the Syrian people. Welcome to ‘Hunter-Killer’

November 20, 2024, San Diego , California, USA: Thousands of patient care and service workers at UC San Diego Medical Center and other University of California campuses across the state began their two-day strike this morning at midnight alleging unfair bargaining tactics, which the UC system denies. The AFSCME Local 3299 union says about 37,000 UC workers will participate in the strike, impacting every UC campus and medical facility statewide. The strike ends at midnight Thursday, November 21, 2024, with picketing scheduled from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
