The exercises, focused on maritime threat response, rescue operations, and maneuvering, aim to strengthen military cooperation and trust among the three nations. As China and Iran continue backing Russia in its war against Ukraine, the drills highlight deepening ties between the authoritarian allies amid growing divisions in the West.

On the second day of the joint naval drill ”Maritime Security Belt 2025,” naval forces from Iran, Russia, and China conducted aerial photography exercises and tactical formation maneuvers in the Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Oman. February 26, 2025, Berlin, Germany: The Brandenburg Gate in Berlin was illuminated in orange on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, as crowds gathered to mourn members of the Bibas family, who were killed in captivity after being taken by Hamas during the October 7 attack on Israel. The tribute, a powerful symbol of solidarity with Israel, drew people who laid down flowers and orange balloons in memory of Shiri Bibas and her two sons, Ariel and Kfir. Israeli Ambassador to Germany Ron Prosor attended the event, standing alongside mourners as they honored the victims.
