Mar 11, 2008 – Duluth, Georgia, USA – Singer Kid Rock came to sign autographs for hundreds of fans during a fundraiser at the suburban Atlanta eatery Waffle House. Proceeds from the fundraiser are being donated to Nicholas House, a homeless shelter for families in DeKalb County, where the 37-year-old entertainer was arrested last October following a fight with a customer. Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, pleaded not guilty to a charge of battery from a fight last fall at another Waffle House in metro Atlanta. July 29, 2024: Cheragi Pahar, Chittagong, Bangladesh: At least 16 protesters were arrested in a clash between the police and the protestors in Chittagong’s Cheragi Pahar area during the demonstration and protest rally program called by the anti-discrimination student movement to protest the quota reform movement. 30 people were injured including 4 policemen and two journalists.

July 27, 2024, Berlin, Germany: Despite inclement weather, hundreds of thousands gathered in Berlin on Saturday, July 27, 2024, to celebrate the 46th Christopher Street Day (CSD) and to advocate for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. The event, one of Europe’s largest celebrations for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer (LGBTIQ) community, was marked by vibrant parades, speeches, and a renewed call for democracy and diversity. The demonstration began at Leipziger Straße, proceeding through Nollendorfplatz, culminating at the iconic Victory Column. Organizers had anticipated up to 500,000 participants. The march, which included 75 trucks and approximately 100 walking groups, highlighted the motto “Only Strong Together – For Democracy and Diversity.” Initially dampened by morning rain, the parade saw participants swapping umbrellas for sunglasses as the weather improved in the afternoon. Christopher Street Day commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York City’s Greenwich Village, a pivotal event in the LGBTQ+ rights movement. Berlin’s first CSD in 1979 saw 450 participants and has since grown to become a major European event, promoting visibility and equal rights for the LGBTIQ community. This year’s CSD also underscored the rising concerns within the community regarding the increasing influence of right-wing parties like the AfD. The CSD Berlin marks the pinnacle of the city’s Pride Month, which includes numerous events ranging from film screenings to Pride Boat Parties to foster visibility and community support across Berlin and beyond.Interview with: Franziska Giffey. She is a German politician of the Social Democratic Party who has been serving as Berlin State Senator for Economy, Energy, and Enterprise since 2023. She served as Governing Mayor of Berlin from December 2021 to April 2023.

With regular bombardments across the country, Ukraine’s power grid and the Kharkiv region in the northeast have faced especially intense onslaughts in recent months, as Russia conducts waves of aerial attacks while reportedly building up its forces. Russia uses a range of deadly tactics that are illegal under international law, including intentionally dropping glide bombs on civilian areas and firing directly at civilian infrastructure; on July 8, for example, military and civilian targets across Ukraine were destroyed by Russian missiles, killing at least 41 people.
