End of Title 42: Children denied medical care at Juarez-El Paso Border

Migrants wait to be processed at gate 40 of the border wall after having crossed the Rio Grande from Ciudad Juarez in hopes of turning themselves in with the intention of seeking asylum. Many migrants waited without shelter for lengthy periods of time. After six days outside, under extreme heat during the day, freezing temperatures at night and fierce sandstorms, women and small children crowded together under the shade of two trees. ESMERALDA TOC, who fled violence from terrorists in San José del Guaviare, Colombia, worried about the fate of the children in the group who were getting sicker, with fever that continue to spike. With their medicine gone, the mothers tried everything they could, but the children were not responding, she said. Desperate, Tocó said she went to the US authorities and asked for medicine but she was rejected.
