This WAR AGAINST CIVILIZATION, started without provocation by Russia and their leader Putin, on February 23, 2022. Photographer Carol Guzy is on Ukrainian frontlines focusing on the three million and growing Ukrainian refugees, fleeing their homes with just the clothes on their backs, to neighboring countries in the largest European evacuation since WWII. Meanwhile Russian missiles and bombs, murder and injure civilians mercilessly, as Russia’s tank invasion rolls on and destroys the victims homeland. Killing innocent children, the elderly and everyday civilians. Ukrainian newspaper Novoe Vremya journalist YURIY MATSARSKIY, is embedded with the Kyiv military. From the frontline he observes: ‘there are long lines of those who want to join our defense… youngest fighter is 18 years old and the oldest is 65. Many women, but mostly men. The most important thing is that there is not a hint of weakness or sadness in the ranks of our fighters. It is true, everyone is unanimous in the belief in victory and therefore moving only forward.’ Matsarskiy, final words, were for anyone in Europe who is still doing business in Russia: ‘I would like to say… You feed the murderers, get out of their (Russian), trade with normal countries, do not finance their war.’ Welcome to: ‘UNITED WE STAND’

Russia has launched a devastating attack on Ukraine, a European democracy of 44 million people, bombarding its cities and closing in on the capital, Kyiv, prompting a mass exodus of refugees. Putin has shattered peace in Europe and thrown the continent’s entire security structure into jeopardy. The ”enemy” is here. Ukraine now finds itself in a face-off with the Russian bear, its claws sharp, its teeth borne wide. How much hope remains for Ukraine? How much panic is now knocking at our door? Psychological warfare is key to Putin’s toolbox. Propaganda, intimidation and demoralization: But this is nothing new. Ever since 2008, during the NATO Summit in Bucharest, he has led a campaign making territorial claims to Ukraine. Putin has made his move. Ukraine still has hope. But for how long, we cannot say.
