Lima, the capital of Peru, is the city of huacas, sacred sites in pre-Columbian culture where, 5,000 years ago, rituals were performed to honor the gods and ask for their protection. With over 10.4 million inhabitants and an area of 2,600 square kilometers, Lima boasts an incredible 400 huacas within its boundaries, distributed throughout almost every neighborhood of this great city. These sacred sites, of varying sizes, preserve part of Peru’s historical memory and the ancestral wisdom of the Incas.
