September 26, 2002. Venezuelan citizens, members of civil society, peacefully protested the deterioration of health centers, shortages of gasoline and domestic gas, deficiencies in public services such as water, electricity, and communications, and against Nicolas Maduro’s call for elections, the protesters said. In the last few days, violent protests have been registered in other cities of the country for the same reasons.
