Tuesday marked the two-year anniversary of what the United Nations says is the world’s largest humanitarian crisis: the Sudanese civil war. Now neighboring South Sudan has once again returned to the brink of war. The country recently made headlines after members of an ethnic militia attacked a U.N. helicopter, killing 28 people. Nicholas Haysom, head of the UN mission in South Sudan, has warned the country is ”teetering on the brink of a return to full-scale civil war”, which would devastate the nation that is still dealing with the aftermath of the last conflict.
