October 9, 2025, Seattle, Washington, USA: Four gray wolves arrived at Woodland Park Zoo a few weeks ago. They have settled in after being given some space to acclimatize to their new surroundings. These six-year-old males are brothers and were born at the California Wolf Center. They are a subspecies of the Gray Wolf, known as the Mexican Wolf, and as such, are critically endangered. They are participants in the SAFE initiative, saving animals from extinction. The Mexican Wolf once roamed throughout the Southwest. (Credit Image: © Shane Srogi/ZUMA Press Wire)
