Polling stations opened across Sweden on Sunday morning in a closely watched parliamentary election that could see the far-right Sweden Democrats (SD) enter government for the first time or the center-left return to power after four years in opposition. The opposition bloc held a lead over the right-wing bloc in two exit polls released after voting ended in Sunday’s parliamentary election. Public broadcaster SVT’s exit poll put the four opposition parties at 51.3 percent of the vote, against 46.8 percent for the four right-wing parties.
