Sept. 13, 2026: Stockholm, Sweden: Staff members count ballots at a counting station. Polling stations opened across Sweden on Sunday morning in a closely watched parliamentary election that could see the far-right Sweden Democrats (SD) enter government for the first time or the center-left return to power after four years in opposition. The opposition bloc held a lead over the right-wing bloc in two exit polls released after voting ended in Sunday’s parliamentary election. Public broadcaster SVT’s exit poll put the four opposition parties at 51.3 percent of the vote, against 46.8 percent for the four right-wing parties. A separate election-day survey by TV4 showed a similar picture, giving the opposition 51.3 percent and the right 47.0 percent. (Credit Image: © Weng Xinyang/Xinhua via ZUMA Press)

April 14, 2016 – Athens, Greece – An ancient necropolis was discovered at the Falirikon Delta, in Attica during works for the building of the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Centre over the past 20 days.An ancient mass grave containing 80 bodies was discovered by archaeologists in the area of the Faliron Delta. The bodies appear to belong to young men, well-built, with excellent dentition and were placed side by side and were shackled. One skeleton was discovered with an arrowhead stuck in its shoulder suggesting he might have been captured. The impressive find can be safely dated to the third quarter of the 7th century BC because of the presence of two trefoil jugs discovered nearby. This date may connect the skeletons with the Cylonian affair. (Credit Image: © Aristidis Vafeiadakis/ZUMA Wire)
