October 27, 2020: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: At least 200 people were evacuated from Rio’s Bonsucesso Federal Hospital after a fire broke out. A 42-year-old female COVID-19 patient reportedly has died while being transferred.

October 24, 2020, New York, USA: Early voting in New York started October 24 and will go on till November 1st at Robert Wagner Middle School, in Manhattan, New York, there is a long line of people waiting for a long time before the opening of the polling station at 10am. The double long line of people started at East 75 street with 3rd Avenue and goes all around till 2nd Avenue and East 76 and back to the Polling center. People were complaining of the long waiting time and some of them were reading books, newspapers while others brought their portable folding chairs as they wait. Inside the polling center, people were given hand sanitizers, asked to follow the sign on the ground to keep 6 feet distance from each other. Election volunteers are shielded with glass as they attend to voters. The early voting is From 10am to 4pm on weekends, 7 am to 3pm on Monday and Friday and from 12 to 8pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. There are some a Police officers at the station to provide law and order.

Recently these archaic ideas have been increasingly challenged, especially by urban educated women. A vast majority of women from poor families, with little or no education, are forced to make choices that have long-term and irreversible impacts on their health and their lives. In Maharashtra state thousands of young women have undergone surgical procedures to remove their wombs. In many cases they have done this to get work as sugarcane harvesters. The numbers of people affected daily in Venezuela exceed one hundred, after the return of displaced persons and the decreeing of the quarantine was decreed, which in the rigid months (March, April and May) did not exceed 10 suspected cases per day. For its part, the Pan American health organization called on governments not to neglect the rules of prevention against the pandemic.
