zReportage.com Story Summary: zReportage.com Story of the Week #759: TUESDAY October 27, 2020: ‘India’s WOMB ROBBERS’ from ZUMA Press award winning photographer Chloe Sharrock of Le Pictorium who specializes in women’s rights in the developing world: Menstruation has long been taboo India, where menstruating women are believed to be impure and are still excluded from social and religious events. Recently these archaic ideas have been increasingly challenged, especially by urban educated women. A vast majority of women from poor families, with little or no education, are forced to make choices that have long-term and irreversible impacts on their health and their lives. In Maharashtra state thousands of young women have undergone surgical procedures to remove their wombs. In many cases they have done this to get work as sugarcane harvesters. June 11, 2020, Valencia, Carabobo, Venezuela: Without respecting the social distancing recommended by the WHO, World Health Organization, as a preventive measure against Covid-19, coronavirus. The numbers of people affected daily in Venezuela exceed one hundred, after the return of displaced persons and the decreeing of the quarantine was decreed, which in the rigid months (March, April and May) did not exceed 10 suspected cases per day. For its part, the Pan American health organization called on governments not to neglect the rules of prevention against the pandemic. The photo corresponds to the people using the public transportation in the city of Valencia, Carabobo state.

Before the rally Juan Guaido toured the central part of the city of Valencia, where he was able to interact directly with the town, in the Carabobo state.

In 2018 Florida Amendment 4 restored voting rights to as many as 1.4 million former lawbreakers who had completed their sentences, but then things got complicated. Nearly two years after the landmark constitutional amendment allowing felons to vote, was passed, the state officials don’t know how many have registered. They also don’t know how many convicts on the voter rolls owe court fees, fines or restitution that would disqualify them from voting under a subsequent state law that limited the amendment’s scope. October 23, 2020: Malang, East Java Province, Indonesia:Thousands of workers wore masks separated by plastic covers as part of measures amid during the Covid-19 outbreak when processing Hand-Kretek Cigarettes (SKT) at Gudang Baru cigarette factory.The Indonesian government is trying to suppress the increase in positive cases of Covid-19 to reach 381,910 people, the recovery status reached 305,100 people and the recovered status reached 13,077 people on October 23. As well as maintaining the sustainability of small and large companies, businesses when the decline in Indonesia’s economic growth reaches -1 to -2, 9 percent in the third quarter of the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak which entered the brink of recession.

October 22, 2020 – Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia: Students and laborers again staged the second rallies called “Bali Tidak Diam” (Bali Are Not Silent) in front of Udayana University, to not support Indonesian laborers of the new rule; Omnibus Law. This new law was created by Indonesian parliament which fears of crippling laborers rights and harm the environment.
